Physical Therapy

Physiotherapy is based on the use of physical means, machines and exercises, with the aim of complete healing and significant improvement of the individual's functionality.

At our Center we provide rehabilitation and physiotherapy services that cover the entire range of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.

After the final diagnosis, the goals are set, and a personalized treatment protocol is tailored for each patient, which is divided into different phases depending on the condition:

→  The phase of reducing pain and inflammation
→ The phase of restoring the range of joint motion
→  The phase of restoring muscle strength and endurance
→  The phase of retraining of movement coordination and proprioception

The treatment is achieved both with natural means, i.e. light, water, movement, heat, as well as with the support of technology. A physiotherapy session can consist of numerous techniques and methods.

Some of the natural means that are used are electrotherapy, therapeutic ultrasounds, diathermy, paraffin bath, shockwave, taping and massage. It is also of key importance to apply specialized exercises depending on the condition, the goals, and the physical condition of each patient.
Physiotherapy also significantly contributes to the recovery of postoperative patients, since its purpose is to assist patients to return quickly to their normal activity without complications.

Respiratory Physiotherapy
Respiratory physiotherapy plays a significant role in various lung diseases. It is appropriate for acute and chronic lung diseases, such as bronchitis, asthma, obstructive pulmonary disease, etc. It is based on clearance of the bronchi from the secretions and on respiratory exercises, thus making breathing easier.
The therapy is also contingent on special breathing exercises, reinforcing the cough and strengthening the muscles involved in breathing.

The value of a Physical Education Specialist in Rehabilitation
The presence of a Physical Education Specialist in rehabilitation programs is crucial towards the end of the program, where the patient has acquired almost the full range of motion of the injured area, has no intense pain and the muscular strengthening begins.
At this point the Physical Education Specialist undertakes the strengthening, maximizing the neuromuscular fit, balance, agility, and the reintegration into normality.
In cases of athletes, the Physical Education Specialist participates in the preparation of rehabilitation programs for the athlete's return to the field and is in close communication with the athlete’s coach.

Also, in cases of diseases of the spine or joints, the rehab trainer in the final stage teaches the patient muscle strengthening exercises that protect the area with the problem and at the same time allow the patient to perform all activities for a desired level of quality of life.
