
Born in Alexandria, Nicolas Christodoulou returned to Cyprus with his family at the age of 5. He holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Athens, specializing in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, as well as in Sports Medicine. He was trained at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in England to rehabilitate patients with spinal cord injuries. He was also trained in electromyography at Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Athens after researching new methods of treating low back pain.
Upon his return to Cyprus in 1986, he established the Limassol Centre for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, offering his services to patients for 35 years.
He is the designated doctor of the Gymnastic Club Olympia (GSO) for the track and field sport athletes. He was the designated doctor for the football teams of Apollon, AEL, Aris and other teams of the second and third category, as well as the volleyball team of Anorthosis.
He is the President of the Cyprus Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Former President of the Cyprus Association of Sports Medicine, President of the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, President of the UEMS MJC on Sports Medicine, former President of the UEMS PRM Section, founder and Past President of the Mediterranean Forum of PRM, Past President and now Honorary President of the Limassol Medical Association, Past Vice President of the Cyprus Medical Association and for many years organizer of the European Program of Continuing Medical Education of Cypriot Doctors.
He is Emeritus Professor at the European University of Cyprus and an active member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He has organized many medical conferences at local, Mediterranean and European level. He has published scientific papers in peer reviewed international scientific journals.
He has been honoured by the European Union of Medical Specialists with the "UEMS Gold Decoration of Honour", the highest distinction of UEMS, for his valuable contribution to the Union and to Medicine. He is also Life Fellow of the European Board of his specialty.
